Drums are powerful tools that become allies for walking any medicine path. When you make sacred tools with your own hands, you open a world within you that sees life, death, rebirth and resources differently. It is a transformative process for the maker. . . in ways one would never expect or plan for. Birthing sacred tools in challenging seasons of Life tend to give us the space to make ourselves as we make the making.

From one body, many are born.

Each hide holds the story, the messages, and the medicine of the animal who died. In the process of working the hides for sacred sound making, we listen. We invite the spirit of the animal to be the guide for their rebirth. Each of these spirits becomes an ancestor for the drums made from their hides. These animals and their spirits continue to teach us how to be a better human.

Dream it.

A drum is more that just a musical instrument. It is a tool that connects you to your own source of power and thus the divine. In a world which can seem overwhelming, your drum will ground and inspire you on your journey. If you are called to make a drum you must answer the call.

Build it.

This workshop will teach you how to tie a 16" hand drum the old fashioned way from natural materials. The frames are steam bent ash by Irish Shaman and drum maker Daithi Dubh of Wild Spirit Drums. The skins are sustainably sourced free range buffalo.
