Sometimes they just wear out. Djembe’s get a lot of beating and a dry hide can crack and break. The owner of this drum had used it a lot in college but when it broke he left it behind at his mothers so many years later she decided to surprise him with a make over! This beauty got a new hide a fresh coat of fur and restrung.

The hide on this drum was damaged during shipment from Africa. There was no way that we could match the damaged hide, but wanted to save the integrity of the original drum so we replaced the damaged hide with African goat.

Originally made in 2013, this drum had seen better days. The owners child had jumped on it. We repaired the broken frame, gave it a face lift with a new finish and replaced the damaged hides with moose, which is much more resistant to jumping children!
